Boudoir Shoes – Denver Boudoir Photographer

I get a lot of frequently asked questions from my Denver boudoir clients. Today I’ll tackle one of them. So the question is: What shoes should I bring for boudoir? Or no shoes at all? The answer is, its really up to you! (“WOW a lot of help there Adena”, but let me explain!)

Now, before I go into a whole blog post about shoes and boudoir in the studio, let me be very clear…they are NOT necessary! Some of my favorite shots are more relaxed and comfortable and honestly, shoes wouldn’t really make sense! Bare feet might just be the preference around these parts.

I think its important to always remember that this session is about YOU. We could call your wardrobe the side show, but accessories and shoes fall to the side, side show ha! That being said, some women LOVE shoes…so if that’s you, bring those babies and lets play!

Simple heels are great to finish an outfit. If you’re wearing thigh highs, it makes since to wear heals! If it looks like you’re not completely undressed yet, maybe the shoes will be next?

Possibly instead of basic heels you decide to go with some sexy thigh or knee high boots. Boots kind of give the same feel as thigh highs and look stunning with body suits…ow ow!

And lets not forget those shoes that I consider “statement shoes”. Sometimes that means wedding shoes. Or shoes that sparkle so bright they almost blind my camera! Whatever it is, they mean something to you, so they deserve a quick shot.

And lastly, there are shoes maybe people wouldn’t call sexy. Most clients wouldn’t even think to bring these to a boudoir session. But the Blush & Tease experience really is about YOU and sometimes your shoes define you. If your favorite shoes fall into that “not so sexy” category, bring ’em, I consider it a challenge. Bring it on!
